Battle of Hastings: One & Two-Day Tours

One-Day Tour (Suggested Itinerary):  Local pick-up & travel to the south coast to visit:
  • Pevensey Bay:  The site of Duke Wiliam of Normandy's landing in late September, 1066.    
  • Battlefield of Hastings:  Caldbec & Senlac Hills; dispositions; key events of the battle.
  • Lunch period.
  • Battle Abbey & Visitor Centre:  Originally built by William to commemorate his victory.
  • Harold's Stone:  The alleged location where King Harold was killed on the battlefield.
  • Hastings Castle:  The first castle built by the Normans following William's victory.
Depart from Hastings & return to drop-off point(s).

Two-Day Tour (Suggested Itinerary): If you would like to extend your tour, we suggest the following:
  • Day One:  Visits as above to Pevensey Bay, Hastings, Battle Abbey & Hastings Castle.
  • Overnight 3* star B&B accommodation in Eastbourne Twin rooms with en-suite facilities.
  • An evening meal can be added to your stay if required.
  • Day Two:  Morning at leisure in Eastbourne with an opportunity for lunch.
  • Redoubt Fortress & Museum:  Built in 1805 in response to Napoleon's threat of invasion.
  • Opportunity for lunch before departure.
Afternoon departure from Eastbourne & return to drop-off point(s).
