Auvers-sur-Oise & Giverny: Four-Day Tours

Day One: Local pick-up & travel to Dover. Ferry to Calais. Onward travel to your accommodation in Paris (3* B&B for three nights). Check-in & evening free.

Day Two (Auvers-sur-Oise):  Vincent van Gogh was one of the most notable of several artists who lived in this village. He produced 70 paintings here in the last 70 days of his life.  
  • Guided walking tour of the village including locations (such as the local church) painted by artists such as van Gogh, Pissarro & Cézanne.
  • Dr Gachet's House:  Gachet was a keen supporter of the Impressionists. He treated van Gogh in the final weeks of his life.
  • Auberge Ravoux:  Visit the room where van Gogh lived for the last few weeks of his life.
  • The Cemetery:  Visit the graves of Vincent & Theo van Gogh.
  • Chateau d'Auvers:  Experience a journey through diverse society of Paris in the 1870s & 1880s & the birth of Impressionism. Twelve rooms filled with flat screens, holograms, interactive terminals & images drawn from over 500 Impressionist works. 
Day Three (Musée d'Orsay & Giverny):  Depart after breakfast a morning visit to the Musée d'Orsay before visiting Monet's house & garden in Giverny:
  • The Musée d'Orsay:  The largest collection of Impressionist & Post-Impressionist paintings in the world. A number of works painted in Auver-sur-Oise are exhibited here.
  • Monet's House & Garden:  Monet lived in Giverny from 1883 to his death in 1926. The garden was his other great passion & the inspiration for the Water Lily series.

Evening free in Paris or option of a cruise on the River Seine. An evening meal in a Parisian restaurant can also be added to your tour.

Day Four:  Depart for Calais & ferry crossing to Dover. Return to your local drop-off point. A hypermarket visit can be included en-route, time permitting (excludes Sundays).
